Valley View : The House Guest Book
In our guests' own words . . .
We booked Valley View for a family reunion and celebration and it was perfect. The house is gorgeous and the loaction is wonderful. The lounge, kitchen and dining room are spacious enabling us to enjoy each other's company without feeling on top of each other. The kitchen is very well equipped and has plenty of storage space. The lounge has sufficient seating for a large group, a wood burner stove makes the room feel very cosy and comfortable, and there is a selection of board games. Several members of our group commented on how good the WiFi was.
The house is ideally located for walking along Dovedale to the Stepping Stones and we really enjoyed being able to step outside onto public footpaths. The Tissington Trail is also a short drive away. Ashbourne is delightful with plenty of antique shops, cafes and supermarkets and the area has plenty of good pubs. We ate at The Royal Oak at Hurdlow and were very pleased with the food and service.
Throughout the booking process and during the run up to our visit Wendy, the owner, was extremely helpful and personable, answering email queries promptly and fully. The website is worth exploring as Wendy gives sugestions and recommendations regarding the local area.
Wendy you have a super house. Without a doubt we'll be returning to the area and would love to stay at the property again.
We just wanted to say we really enjoyed our stay at your beautiful cottage in Milldale. The area is beautiful and the cottage has everything you could possibly need and made our stay so easy.
I am sure we will stay again and I have already recommended you to a friend.
We had a really lovely stay at Valley View. The cottage was perfect and in such a beautiful setting. You had recommended Rachel for outside catering and she made us a wonderful meal. We found the cottage to be well equipped and comfortable, with plenty of space for the whole family to relax and enjoy themselves. We all said we hope we can come and stay again sometime.
We had a lovely time at Valley View. The house was fantastic, very well equipped and lovely and spacious. The view and local area are stunningly beautiful, the family very much enjoyed going for walks. The board games came in really handy and yours is one of the few places I've see that actually seats as many as it sleeps. I'm sure if the opportunity arises we would love to stay again.
We were lucky with the weather and walked and cycled all week. My mother who is 82 had been very ill since we booked and not up and about, but the break was amazing for her. She is so much better it must be the Derbyshire air! We also kayaked at Carsington Water (not mum). The kids aged 18, 21 and 22 shared the Annex so we all had peace and quiet. It was excellent and would recommend to all. A very big thank you.September 2016
